SHARJAH // Two people sustained severe injuries after being shot during a mass fight in Khor Fakkan.
Sharjah Police have arrested a group of men in their twenties after they were involved in the knife fight in the early hours of Friday.
Police said a personal dispute led to the a knife fight before one of the men produced a firearm and fired it randomly, which led to the two being shot. The wounded were treated in Khor Fakkan Hospital.
Police were notified by the hospital after several people stabbed and wounded from gun fire were admitted, some to the intensive care unit.
According to police, two men started to swear at each other, which led one to stab the other before the rest of the men present joined in the fight. Several cars were also damaged.
Police arrested everyone involved and said that some of the men had criminal records.
During interrogations, the men admitted to taking part in the fight.
The men will remain in police custody until they are referred to prosecutors to face trial.
