Brazil’s all-time top scorer Neymar made a grand entrance at King Fahd International Stadium as he was unveiled as a new Al Hilal player in front of over 50,000 fans. The 31-year-old arrives in Riyadh after six years at Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian promised his new club’s supporters to lead them to titles, adding “I’m proud to be a Hilali, let’s enjoy this season and win together.”
Alongside the former Santos and Barcelona forward, Al Hilal unveiled the latest batch of signings including Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, also known as Bono, who joined from Sevilla and Brazilian forward Malcom who signed from Zenit Saint-Petersburg earlier in the summer.
The ceremony ahead of Al Hilal’s first home match of the Saudi Pro League season against Al Fayha was the first appearance for the trio in front of the supporters in Riyadh.
Action-packed day for Al Hilal
Al Hilal were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Al Fayha under the watchful eye of their latest star signing Neymar on a night the Brazil captain was unveiled in front of 56,000 fans at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
Neymar, 31, became the Saudi Pro League’s record signing, joining Al Hilal in a blockbuster move from Paris Saint-Germain for a reported fee of €90 million ($98m). The Brazilian was announced as a new Al Hilal player on Wednesday and arrived in Riyadh on Friday.
However, in the match Al Fayha proved a tough nut to crack. Hilal fans will see the draw as two dropped points against weaker opposition.

Just as Ittihad were struggling to find a breakthrough, Abderrazak Hamdallah opens the scoring on 54 minutes. This after Benzema seemed certain to score, but Brazilian Braga reacted brilliantly to save far to his left.

Word around the stadium is that Al Hilal are planning a surprise unveiling of former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic at half-time. The Serbian arrived in Saudi Arabia earlier today but has not been announced by the club's social media accounts yet.

Half hour gone at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal in Jeddah and still goalless between Al Itihad and Al Tai - despite the champions giving home league debuts to Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Fabinho.
Igor Coronado, of Sharjah in the UAE fame, has been the game's chief attacking threat, going close twice. Remeber, he struck twice in the 3-0 opening win at Al Raed. More expected from Benzema and Co, but players clearly toiling in the heat.

And just as quickly, the hosts equalise on 20 minutes with a goal from Abdullah Al Hamdan. The arrival of Neymar seems to be working already!

Michael Delgado's goal is ruled out for offside and the home crowd is silenced as former Rangers striker Fashion Sakala strikes at the other end on 15 minutes after some dazzline footwork. It's the Zambian's second goal of the season already for Al Fayha.
