At least 25 civilians are killed when their bus is hit by a roadside bomb in western Afghanistan.

HERAT // At least 25 civilians were killed when their bus was hit by a roadside bomb in western Afghanistan, the provincial governor said. The bus was on its way from Delaram district to Kabul when the bomb exploded, n a highway through Nimroz province, the provincial governor Ghulam Dastgir Azaad said. Although there was no claim of responsibility, the governor blamed the attack on the Taliban, which is fighting to overthrow the Afghan government and evict nearly 150,000 foreign troops in a nearly nine-year insurgency. "The roadside bomb struck a civilian bus this morning," Mr Azad said. "The bomb had been planted by the enemies because this morning a coalition convoy was supposed to cross the area," he said, referring to Nato forces.
