DUBAI // A woman who called police claiming a customer had burgled her apartment was charged with prostitution.
The 25-year-old Iranian left a man at her home while she met another client. When she returned, her front door had been forced open, and Dh314,000 plus 180,000 Iraqi dinars had been stolen from a safe.
The Dubai Criminal Court was told the woman met with two Palestinian men and a third man, whose name and nationality were not in records, at a nightclub on April 14.
She agreed to have sex with them for Dh2500 at her home in Oud Mutainah.
In her evidence, she admitted taking the men to her apartment. She later received a call from another man in Sheikh Zayed Road.
She said she asked the men to leave her flat as she needed to head to another customer, but one of them asked to have sex with her again and told her he was willing to wait for her. She agreed and locked him in her flat, her testimony showed.
When she returned three hours later, she found her door forced open and the money missing from her safe. She called police.
After questioning, she was charged with prostitution. The Palestinian men were separately charged with theft and having sex out of wedlock.
The next hearing will be on August 28.
