Schools closed their doors early and traffic in the capital was diverted as Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, led a parade from Al Manhal Palace to the spiritual home of the emirate’s Ruling family at Qasr Al Hosn to mark this year’s festival, which runs until February 21.
