A mother whose seven children died after a fire broke out in their home in Fujairah last year has been charged with causing their deaths.
The children, aged between five and 15, were asleep at their home in Dhadna village when the blaze started from their living room.
Police were alerted to the emergency at 5.40am but were unable to reach the scene in time to save them.
Firefighters found the siblings unconscious in their bedrooms, asphyxiated by the fumes.
This week, a hearing at Dibba Al Furairah Court was told the children had inhaled a poisonous gas from a burning sofa.
Prosecutors also said the only door leading out of the property was locked, meaning the children had no chance of escape.
A verdict is expected on November 18.
