A man who killed his mother by slitting her throat and keeping her body in his flat for 10 days in June last year was suffering from psychosis, Sharjah Criminal Court heard on Monday.
It received a psychological report on the 29-year-old defendant who stood trial on Monday.
Police found the body of the 50-year-old Danish victim at the defendant’s flat when they arrested him on June 7 after he attacked an Iranian supermarket worker with a knife.
He admitted killing his mother, claiming Allah ordered him to do so, as she was performing witchcraft.
