DUBAI // The man accused of kidnapping and killing eight-year-old Obaida Al Aqrabawi will appear before the Dubai Criminal Court on Monday morning.
The 48-year-old Jordanian will face charges of premeditated murder, kidnapping a person and locking him up using deceit, threats and physical abuse. He will also be charged with rape, consuming alcohol without a licence and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The Jordanian boy’s body was found under a tree on Academic City Road in Al Warqa on May 22, two days after he was reported missing from his Sharjah home.
Police said the defendant confessed to kidnapping the boy then strangling him to death.
