Emily Kristine Pedersen entered the record books as the first winner of the $1million Aramco Saudi Ladies International at the Royal Greens Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

The Race to Costa del Sol leader from Denmark clinched the title from Georgia Hall, the major champion from England, in a play-off in the first extra hole after the two had finished 72 holes on 10 under par.

A couple of shots behind them in third was Swede Caroline Hedwall with Ann Van Dam of the Netherlands and Australian Stephanie Kyriacou a further stroke down sharing fourth.

Pedersen held her nerve for a birdie on the par-five 18th while Hall, who was three clear with five holes to play, came short by missing an eight-foot birdie putt for the win at the last.
