English football columnist Richard Jolly names his Best XI in the Premier League for the April 16-17 weekend, including Manchester City's star pair Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne, Liverpool's standout striker Daniel Sturridge and impressive youth Connor Randall and Aaron Cresswell on the strength of his screamer for West Ham United.

Goalkeeper: Heurelho Gomes (Watford)

The Brazilian saved two penalties from West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino to earn his side a 1-0 victory.

Right-back: Connor Randall (Liverpool)

The 20-year-old made an impressive Premier League debut to help his side win 2-1 against Bournemouth.

Centre-back: Jamaal Lascelles (Newcastle United)

Brought in by Rafa Benitez, he responded by scoring and helping Newcastle keep a much-needed clean sheet.

Centre-back: Damien Delaney (Crystal Palace)

Produced a man-of-the-match display as Crystal Palace defended defiantly to earn a surprise point at Arsenal.

Left-back: Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United)

Scored the goal of the weekend in the game of the weekend, a spectacular effort in the 2-2 draw with leaders Leicester.

Right midfield: Andros Townsend (Newcastle United)

The January buy helped make his team’s first two goals and scored the third in the 3-0 win over Swansea.

Centre midfield: Lee Cattermole (Sunderland)

Led by example with three goal-line clearances and an influential midfield display at Carrow Road.

Centre midfield: Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Showed how Chelsea erred in letting him leave with a barnstorming display in City’s 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Left midfield: Fabio Borini (Sunderland)

A superb penalty taker, he put Sunderland ahead at Norwich and then crossed for Jermain Defoe to score the second.

Striker: Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)

The Argentinian became a rare player to score a hat-trick against Chelsea with a display of clinical finishing.

Striker: Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)

Jurgen Klopp described his display at Bournemouth as “brilliant” after Sturridge scored as a weakened team won.
