Valencia (1) Atalanta (4), Tuesday, KO: midnight: Attempting to drag yourselves back into a tie when you are three goals down is a thankless task at the best of times. But Valencia are going to have to do so without the backing of their ferocious Mestalla faithful with the game being played behind closed doors due to coronavirus fears. Liverpool (0) v Atletico Madrid (1), Wednesday, KO: midnight: Atletico have the narrow advantage going into this match but European nights at Anfield tend to bring out the very best in Liverpool teams. A run of three consecutive defeats for the Premier League champions-elect came to an end with a tight victory over Bournemouth on Saturday. Even the solid defence of Diego Simeone's Spanish side will struggle to contain the fearsome Reds front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane for a second match in a row. Getty. Paris Saint-Germain (1) v Borussia Dortmund (2), Wednesday, KO: midnight: Another match where no fans will be present as Paris police made the call on Monday to take the match behind closed doors. A real shame for both sets of fans as this has the potential to be a cracker. PSG cannot stop scoring at present and have smashed 13 goals in their previous three games, while Dortmund have, in Jadon Sancho and Erling Braut Haaland, two of the most in-form attacking talents in Europe. While more and more sporting events are being called-off around the world due to the coronavirus, the Champions League fixtures go ahead as planned this week, albeit with some matches taking place behind closed doors.

Valencia's last-16, second leg clash with Atalanta at the Mestalla on Tuesday, and Paris Saint-Germain against Borussia Dortmund at Parc des Princes 24 hours later, will both be played in eerie silence.

As it stands, supporters will be present for Tuesday's RB Leipzig versus Tottenham match at the Red Bull Arena and for Liverpool's game with Atletico Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday.

Whether the quarter-final fixtures, scheduled to begin on April 7-8, all kick-off as planned – with or without fans – remains to be seen.
