Uruguay star Luis Suarez was hit with a global four-month ban for biting an opponent on Thursday as Fifa imposed the heaviest sanction against a player in World Cup history. While Uruguay will meet Colombia on Saturday in a last-16 match, the 27-year-old Suarez returned home to a hero’s welcome from hundreds of fans at Montevideo airport early Friday. Uruguay’s President Jose Mujica went to the airport intending to greet the star striker, but left because Suarez’s flight was delayed.
