Angry Paris Saint-Germain fans turn against superstars after Champions League exit

PSG RATINGS: Keylor Navas - 7, Was forced into a good stop by Remi Oudin within 40 seconds and made another great save to deny Alberth Elis. Getty

Achraf Hakimi - 7, Got into dangerous areas but often let himself down with a poor touch or pass in the first half. Corrected things in the second period with a pass across goal to give Neymar a simple finish. Fired an ambitious shot marginally over. AFP

Marquinhos – 7, There were times where the Brazilian looked a little bit too confident when balls came into the box. However, that very confidence served him well in various one-on-ones, with the defender looking indomitable. AFP

Presnel Kimpembe - 7, Blocked Elis’ early cross then hit the Honduran with a hard but fair challenge, an indication of how he would be up for the game despite its strange atmosphere after the club’s Champions League disappointment. Made a superb tackle to stop Sekou Mara getting through, but his poor clearance gave Adli a late chance to shoot. AFP

Nuno Mendes - 6, Got forward effectively, finding Lionel Messi to start the move for their opener. The full-back also showed good awareness defensively in the first half, doing well to cut out Adli’s pass in a dangerous area, but didn’t look as convincing in the second period. AFP

Leandro Paredes - 7, Started poorly, hitting a horrible volley that looped up and wide, then got away with a poor touch as Hwang Ui-jo strayed offside. The Argentine got himself booked for protesting to the referee. Having improved, he showed far more composure to evade Jean Onana and Stian Gregersen before slotting into the top corner. AFP

Danilo Pereira - 6, Conceded possession in his own half but was helped by Marquinhos, just one of various incidents in which his passing looked off in the first half. His play was tighter after half time. AFP

Georginio Wijnaldum - 7, Deftly assisted Kylian Mbappe with a perfectly weighted first-time pass. There were a few times where the Dutchman sloppily conceded possession but he recovered impressively on each occasion. AFP

Neymar - 7, Every touch from the Brazilian was booed by the home crowd in the opening half-hour and he cut a frustrated figure, especially when he was fouled by Josuha Guilavogui. Delicately touched the ball into the back of the net for PSG’s second. AFP

Lionel Messi - 8, The Argentine was also booed, but still displayed his ability to cut teams open by providing the passes for Wijnaldum and Hakimi to get their assists. Couldn’t quite find the target with his curling strike from range, then saw a shot tipped on to the woodwork. AP

Kylian Mbappe - 7, Had some poor touches in the opening stages, but his shot was too powerful for Poussin to handle and opened the scoring. The Frenchman thought he had a penalty to take but was caught offside in the build-up to Wijnaldum being fouled. EPA

Neymar and Lionel Messi felt the heat from Paris Saint-Germain's angry fans following another Champions League humiliation, getting whistled every time they touched the ball during a 3-0 home win against Bordeaux on Sunday.

Even when Neymar scored the second goal against rock-bottom Bordeaux the fans jeered him. Even when Messi embarked on a trademark run from deep and hit the post he got booed.

While the runaway leaders moved 15 points clear in Ligue 1, the fans want success elsewhere.

Yet PSG blew it again in the Champions League this week against Real Madrid. A few weeks ago they also got knocked out the French Cup and coach Mauricio Pochettino is widely expected to be replaced next season.

Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and midfielder Leandro Paredes scored the goals, but it was the reaction of the fans that will be long remembered.
