I write in reference to your article All aboard the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in pictures (June 28). The National's article was very nice to read and featured beautiful pictures of the narrow-gauge runs in Darjeeling, 2,200 metres above sea level. This attractive, famous Indian tourist destination which have been given Unesco World Heritage Site status is laudable. I congratulate The National's team for bringing up this important place to all its readers.
The pictures of the meter gauge steam engine was a particular highlight for me and was very popular in the Indian railway network back in the old days.

The hijab is nothing to be ashamed of for Arab and Muslim girls. Nor should it hold them back. On the contrary, it should make them feel strong and determined.

Facebook scams must be promptly reported by users
I refer to your article Facebook takes action after 'thousands tricked' by scam targeting UAE (June 30). I reported this scam to Facebook when it originally surfaced in my feed. It is good to know that others did so too.

I have repeatedly reported this as fake, false news. There is also a scam pertaining to Tesla chief executive Elon Musk as well. A general rule of thumb: if it is from a “source” that you have not subscribed to, or have never heard of, it is likely to be fake.
