Sunset Hospitality Group (the team behind SushiSamba and Lola Taberna Espanola) has thrown open the doors to its latest venue in Dubai, based on the now-popular formula of dinner and a show. Dream, a dining and entertainment venue, opens at Address Beach Resort, JBR on Friday.

The dinner

Dream offers a Mediterranean-inspired menu, which is replete with options for vegetarians, and meat and seafood lovers alike, and has a flavourful range of marinades.

A starter of grilled Mediterranean vegetables (Dh65), for example, comes marinated in rocket pesto, cumin, coriander seed and hummus made from feta cheese. The roasted cauliflower steak (Dh65) is marinated in lemon confit, dill, parsley and cashew nut puree. The lamb cutlets (Dh275) are flavoured with herbes de Provence and served with creamy polenta.

Other signature dishes include pan-seared scallops with caviar in a cream and buttery sauce (Dh175); foie gras terrine with fig marmalade and brioche (Dh135); seafood risotto with basil tempura; and Angus tenderloin with pan-seared foie gras and asparagus (Dh255).

Chef-recommended desserts include tiramisu caviar, which comes placed in a caviar can and covered with coffee beans; and hazelnut crumble cheesecake with tart strawberry jelly.

Guests can also enjoy finger food and sundowners on the venue’s waterfront terrace, the Garden of Dreams, which is nestled amid lush greenery, and offers coveted views of Bluewaters Island and Ain Dubai.

The show

Dream promises to put on avant-garde theatrical and musical performances, orchestrated by award-winning Arab choreographer Pierre Khadra, who has worked with regional and international artists such as Elissa, Tamer Hosny, Nancy Ajram, Myriam Fares, Wael Kfoury, Ricky Martin and Andrea Bocelli.

With a roster of dancers, singers, acrobats and aerialists, plus international guests each month, Khadra will take guests on an entertaining journey that spans everywhere from Broadway and Bollywood, to Paris and China.

The National got a preview of the shows, which reveal lavish, custom-made costumes and headpieces, mesmerising light effects and scintillating synchronisation.

Nazih Hafez, chief operating officer of Sunset Hospitality Group, wants for this venue to “prove you don’t need to be asleep to dream and this couldn’t be more aligned with Dubai, a vibrant city that never sleeps”.

Garden of Dreams is open from 5pm-3am and Dream is open from 8pm-3am. Reservations can be made at 04 220 0224
