Emirates Wildlife Society to host 24-hour football challenge

The challenge will see an enthusiastic team of footballers play 24 teams for 24 hours

The funds raised from the challenge will contribute to projects such as the Gulf Green Turtle Conservation Project

The Emirates Wildlife Society in association with World Wildlife Fund (EWS-WWF) will host the Oceans 24-Hour Football Challenge to raise money for marine research.

The challenge, held at The Royal Emirates Sports Academy in Dubai Sports City, will see an enthusiastic team of footballers play 24 teams for 24 hours.

A statement said all funds raised from the challenge will contribute directly to the groundbreaking marine research being conducted by EWS-WWF — ultimately serving to protect the UAE’s most important natural marine habitats and endangered species. The Marine Conservation Programme encompasses crucial projects such as the Gulf Green Turtle Conservation Project, and serves to create a network of protected marine areas with the united support of regional players. Contributing substantially to worldwide ocean conservation efforts, it aims at building resilience to the impacts of climate change.
