Tropical prints and athletic undertones are redefined in Juicy Couture’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection, previewed at the Dubai Mall store this Tuesday.
Clothing is typical of the brand’s muse — the “it girl of L A,” with plenty of playful rompers, floral prints and of course, velour track suits.
The collection highlights two big trends of the season: denims, and nautical elements. Denim vests with frayed shoulders are available in light blue and white, and there’s a pair of pants that appears to be denim jeans, but is actually a pair of comfy track pants.
As well, a maritime palette of reds, whites and blues is worked into chic jumpsuits and cropped blazers with striped hemlines, and chic lace dresses appear in a nautical navy hue, while necklaces feature glitzy sailor-inspired bows.
Statement pieces include embellished bomber jackets, embroidered cardigans and printed silk jackets, along with crochet floral dresses in summery shades of mint green, off-white and pale yellow.
In accessories, expect brightly coloured baseball caps with bold Juicy logos, and newly introduced Juicy Couture footwear comprising of ballerina flats and gold embossed pumps, produced by Steve Madden for the brand.
Printed tote bags come in sizes perfect for the beach, and one black design features a Givenchy-esque image of a roaring tiger. Bejewelled leather cross-body bags are sure to become best-sellers for summertime party-goers, coming in extra small sizes to fit just the bare essentials, including phones and credit cards, and there are also new printed backpacks mirroring floral designs from silk dresses seen in the SS15 collection. On many of the new bag styles, the brand lettering has become much smaller, subtly displayed on the front flap.
A lifestyle of island hopping with sandy beaches and evening bonfires comes to mind, making the designs ideal for upcoming getaways. The first drop of the SS15 collection is now available in Juicy Couture stores, with more pieces scheduled to arrive in April.
