On Tuesday, April 19, Burn Activewear launched its debut fitness apparel collection at 1X1 Gallery in Al Serkal Avenue, Dubai. Founded by UAE-based Tanya Ganwani, Burn Activewear is targeted at women who are seeking stylish workout attire.
The line includes a range of T-shirts, tanks, sports bras, leggings and bomber jackets, along with accessories like yoga mats and cap. A personal favourite was the baseball jersey-style T-shirt, with “Dubai” spelt out in bold red letters.
The launch event at 1X1 Gallery was buzzing with shoppers who quickly grabbed up the label’s trendy leggings with mesh panels, and pink tanks reading “When in doubt workout.”
The collection will soon be available online. Until then, shoppers can order through email at info@burncollection.com. As well, starting Sunday, April 24, the items will be available at Fitness 360 at Mazaya Center. Follow the brand on Instagram @BurnActivewear to stay up-to-date with new designs as they're released.

There are numerous success stories of teen businesses that were created in college dorm rooms and other modest circumstances. Below are some of the most recognisable names in the industry:
- Facebook: Mark Zuckerberg and his friends started Facebook when he was a 19-year-old Harvard undergraduate.
- Dell: When Michael Dell was an undergraduate student at Texas University in 1984, he started upgrading computers for profit. He starting working full-time on his business when he was 19. Eventually, his company became the Dell Computer Corporation and then Dell Inc.
- Subway: Fred DeLuca opened the first Subway restaurant when he was 17. In 1965, Mr DeLuca needed extra money for college, so he decided to open his own business. Peter Buck, a family friend, lent him $1,000 and together, they opened Pete’s Super Submarines. A few years later, the company was rebranded and called Subway.

• 2checkout’s “all-in-one payment gateway and merchant account” accepts payments in 200-plus markets for 2.4-3.9 per cent, plus a Dh1.2-Dh1.8 currency conversion charge. The US provider processes online shop and mobile transactions and has 17,000-plus active digital commerce users.
• PayPal is probably the best-known online goods payment method - usually used for eBay purchases - but can be used to receive funds, providing everyone’s signed up. Costs from 2.9 per cent plus Dh1.2 per transaction.
