The hotly anticipated new series of Top Gear will throw the spotlight on the UAE, following a secret shoot in the Emirates.
A new teaser trailer for the UK motoring series reveals stunts were filmed at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, in a glitzy Aston Martin Vulcan.
It is likely new hosts Matt LeBlanc, of Friends fame, and TV personality Chris Evans were in town for the below the radar shoot.
The one-minute trailer was released late in the afternoon on Thursday, with the Yas circuit clearly visible around 38 seconds into the clip. It is not yet clear if other UAE locations were used.
Text alongside the video on YouTube reads: “We’ll bring you more before the new series kicks off in May, but for now, sit back, turn it up and watch the new trailer. Note: includes an 820bhp Aston Vulcan at Yas Marina. At night. Doing donuts.”
This upcoming series of the popular show marks the first without long-term host Jeremy Clarkson. Evans and LeBlanc are among the fresh faces brought in to fill the void, and the one-minute trailer suggests a pronounced change of direction for the much-loved franchise.
The teaser ends with the promise the series is “coming soon”, but pledges no exact broadcast date.
