Man caught shoving woman onto train tracks in shocking CCTV footage

A 56-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out the assault on a woman in Hong Kong

A shocking video has emerged of the moment a man pushed a woman onto railway tracks in Yuen Long, Hong Kong.

In the CCTV footage, which was shared on Facebook, the attacker casually walks past the woman, who turned out to be a station cleaner, and shoves her onto the tracks.

The 59-year-old, who has not been named, is seen lying on the tracks staring up at the man on the platform as he walks away.

“The woman suffered injuries to her jaw and was sent to Pok Oi Hospital for treatment,” a police spokeswoman told the South China Morning Post.

Police have arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The Post added that he carried a Hong Kong identity card.

Officers are said to investigating a motive behind the attack.

In August, police in London released footage of the moment a woman was pushed into the pathway of a bus by a jogger.

The woman was left with only minor injuries sustained during the fall after the bus managed to swerve out of the way.
