Woman uses her child to help steal mobile phones in Fujairah

The woman distracted shop keepers while her 11-year-old child stole the phones, from four shops.

FUJAIRAH // An Arab woman and her 11-year-old child were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stealing mobile phones from four shops in Fujairah.

Kalba CID opened an investigation after receiving reports from various shop owners about the missing phones.

After being found and questioned by police, the woman confessed to distracting the shop owners, asking them for hair dye and chewing gum, while her child stole the phones.

According to police, the woman stole the phones in order to pay outstanding debts.
