Humidity rose and fog rolled in on Saturday morning with similar conditions forecast in the coming days.

Dubai residents woke to a blanket of fog though it had largely cleared by 10am.

Temperatures on Saturday will reach a high of 37C in Abu Dhabi, with humidity at 72 per cent as sea breezes sweep in to push the mercury up.

It will be slightly cooler in Dubai with a high of 35C and also less humid, although temperatures will build towards 40C on Sunday and Monday.

The persistent fog of Saturday morning as humid coastal air meets the drier desert atmosphere will be a familiar forecast this week across much of the Emirates.

Otherwise, most of the UAE will be bathed in sunshine on Saturday afternoon, although eastern areas will see more clouds with light to moderate winds.

The National Centre of Meteorology has called on motorists to take all precautions and follow the traffic regulations as opportunity for fog formation persists in the week ahead, particularly in the morning and evening rush hour period.

The centre expected horizontal visibility to be reduced at times over some coastal and internal areas of the country.
