DUBAI // A soldier who threatened to post naked pictures of two sisters on several social media websites was sentenced to three months in jail by Dubai Criminal Court on Tuesday morning.

S A, 21, from Sharjah, denied threatening the two Emirati sisters, sending images of a pornographic nature to them and insulting them.

He used Keek, WhatsApp and Instagram to carry out the crimes in May 2013.

J A, 29, said that she received an online invitation from a woman called Sarah, who asked her about her sister. “This Sarah said that she wanted to have sex with my sister,” said J A.

She ignored the messages but they kept coming and became insulting and some contained pornographic images.

“When this person sent a message saying that a naked picture of me and my sister would be posted on the internet, I reported [it] to police,” J A said.

Officers traced the account holder and found that it was a man who had sent the same messages to J A’s sister, M A, 35.

Police found that the soldier was stationed in Bahrain when he sent the messages to the sisters using his mobile phone.

Police arrested S A at Dubai International on his return.
