DUBAI // A man who had an affair with his best friend’s wife threatened to leak a video of them having sex if she did not pay him back Dh30,000 she owed him, Dubai Criminal Court heard on Sunday.
Indian P K, 35, denied threatening Indian F M and threatening to post salacious videos of them online.
He said: “I did not make those threats, and I gave evidence to prosecutors that she borrowed money from me.”
Prosecutors claimed the defendant threatened F M in 2013 and also last year. When she refused to give him back the money, he said he would publish four clips of them having sex.
When F M told her husband about the affair, he reported the defendant to police. P K confessed they had had an affair while both in India.
“The husband told us that P K was his best friend and that he sought his help to solve some marital problems with his wife but, instead, he had an affair with her,” said A A, a policeman.
“He said that his wife informed him she had sex with P K in India and that now he is blackmailing her. When we arrested him he claimed that the money was a loan he gave to the woman and she refused to pay it back.”
The next hearing takes place on March 29.
