SHARJAH // Seven Indians have been admitted to hospital after being poisoned by inhaling a pesticide.
Emergency services were called out at around 6am on Wednesday to treat the men at their accommodation in Al Nabaah in Sharjah. They were taken to Al Qassimi and Kuwait hospitals.
According to Al Ittihad, The National's Arabic-language sister publication, doctors in the hospitals described the severity of their symptoms as "mild to medium".
They all suffered severe nausea and stomach aches and doctors believe they inhaled quantities of aluminium phosphide.
They will stay in the hospital for 48 hours as a precaution, to ensure their health does not deteriorate due to the inhaled substances and only then will they be discharged, a hospital official said.
A team from Al Waset Police Station is investigating.
