The Ministry of Labour has donated Dh86,000 as part of an initiative in developing countires to honour fallen UAE servicemen.
The ministry and the Emirates Red Crescent launched the initiative last month under the title “Digging wells to honour the martyrs”. It assists the ERC with digging wells in underdeveloped countries.
The donation is made in recognition for the sacrifices of UAE soldiers who have died while participating in Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.
Mubarak Al Dhahiri, undersecretary of the ministry, praised the collaboration between the two entities, saying the ministry “values such initiatives, especially the sacrifices made by our martyrs”.
Mohammed Al Zarouni, director of the ERC in Dubai, thanked the ministry for its financial contribution.
