UAE weather: 'Brilliant' sunshine as temperatures near 40°C

Conditions have settled after weeks of wind and rain led to flooding

The heat is on this weekend with temperatures set to soar across the UAE.

The mercury is set to hit 39°C as families mark Easter weekend.

The National Centre of Meteorology forecast highs of 42°C in inland desert areas.

The seas are relatively calm and winds are not expected to exceed 30kph.

Global weather provider Accuweather forecast "brilliant sunshine" on Saturday. It does not forecast Dubai or Abu Dhabi to hit regular 40°C days until early next month.

The stable conditions follow the prolonged rainy period in February, March and April and left parts of Ras Al Khaimah heavily flooded earlier this week.
