RAS AL KHAIMAH // A team of UAE University geology students are conducting a survey at Beih Valley in Ras Al Khaimah to determine the efficiency of collecting and storing water in the dam.
The aim of the three-year hydrological and geophysical survey is to study the nature of the underground rock layers and groundwater levels. The students will be supervised by faculty members and the results will be analysed in university laboraties.
It is hoped that the survey would provide students with research skills and scientific tools necessary for future employment as well as serve the community, Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister newspaper of The National, reported.
