SHARJAH // Police are urging beachgoers not to leave children unattended near the water’s edge or to swim in areas with high tides and rough seas.

Major Ibrahim Al Sarah, deputy director of media department, asked residents to monitor the weather forecast before heading to the beach.

“We urge parents to keep an eye on their children, especially those who can’t swim, and to report any incident to the rescue teams found on the beaches,” he said.

Maj Al Sarah asked beachgoers to report any incidents at the beach or anti-social behaviour to the non emergency hotline 901.
