ABU DHABI // Sharjah and Ajman are the latest cities to have their major streets and attractions shared with the world on Google Street View.
The two northern emirates have followed Dubai, which last year became the first Arab city featured on Street View, to have attractions and roads photographed at street level.
They include Al Noor Mosque, Khor Fakkan and Kalba, Al Tamal Camel Track and Al Murabaa Watch Tower.
“We have been expanding Street View across the UAE and hope to do add additional imagery in the future,” said Antony McLoughlin, Street View manager for Google in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
“Street View is a great feature that benefits users and businesses. We’ve received great feedback wherever we’ve launched.”
Users can click and zoom in on the Al Majaz waterfront and the Al Qasba Ferris Wheel.
Al Khan, Al Wahda and Corniche Street in Sharjah were covered by Google’s Street View car.
In Ajman, images of Al Muntazah, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed and Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid streets were gathered.
Google also returned to Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai to update its images.
Street View was introduced in May 2007 and is available in more than 3,000 cities across 63 countries around the world.
The first Street View Special Collect in the UAE was launched in 2013 for the Burj Khalifa.
Next was the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, then the cars were swapped for a camel when shooting the Liwa Desert in Abu Dhabi last year.
