Dubai Municipality has organised a campaign to retrieve sinking vessels from Dubai Creek.
The sinking vessels were causing environmental problems to the water, impeding traffic and hampering the ability of vessels to moor in the port, said Abdul Majeed Al Saifaie, director of the municipality’s waste management department. Mr Al Saifaie said the process of pulling the vessels out took three days due to their large size.
The General Department of Transport and Rescue of Dubai Police assisted with the project, along with a number of companies from the private sector that provided equipment and machinery needed for the operation.
