DUBAI // A pair of labourers admitted sexually assaulting their colleague by videoing him naked, but claimed it was done with his consent.

Appearing at the criminal court on Tuesday, Pakistanis E K, 29, and Z M, 27, denied threatening and locking up the man.

Prosecutors said that on October 3 last year, the two lured the victim into E K’s room at the Dubai Municipality labour camp in Al Muhaisnah area by promising him a lift to a health clinic.

Once in the room, they locked him inside, punched him several times, forcefully stripped him off his clothes then covered his head with a blanket.

“They recorded a clip of me while naked,” said the 27-year-old victim in his prosecution testimony.

The two then threatened to distribute the recording to all his acquaintances in Dubai and Pakistan if he reported them to police.

“They did that because of old disputes I had with them,” said the victim , who was only released after he promised he wouldn’t call the police.

Once he left their room, he did contact the police, who arrived to the camp and arrested the two.

Policeman M A, 28, testified that the defendants confessed to him after their arrest that they had stripped their colleague naked and made a recording of him. But they said it was an act of revenge because he wanted to do the same to them a few days before.

“They added that they made the recording as a prank,” said MA.

The next hearing will be on February 18.
