DUBAI // A jobless Emirati submitted a forged police good conduct certificate to get work at a bank.
The head of recruitment at the bank yesterday told Dubai Criminal Court that the defendant, 29, applied for a job online and was hired in December 2015, but was asked to provide a good conduct certificate, which he did.
“Shortly after checking the certificate, which he sent in an email, we discovered it was a forgery and called police,” said the recruitment boss, 27.
The man had been involved in a drug possession case and would not have been issued such a certificate by police.
He was convicted of forgery and use of a forged document, and was sentenced to three months in jail.
