Dubai Public Prosecution are offering prizes of Dh5,000 to anyone who correctly answers a legal question posted online as part of a competition aiming to spread legal awareness and curb crime.
The competition is open to all residents and citizens and the first question on the department's Instagram account dxbpp was posted on Saturday morning.
"The [social media] clips, which include the questions, are asked personally by members of the prosecution – from prosecutors to administration employees, and are recorded inside the premises," said Tareq Saif, head of communications at Dubai Public Prosecution.
Each clip contains a message or a legal fact before the question is asked to educate the public about the work and responsibilities of prosecution, as well as the country's laws.
Participants should send their answers to the department's Instagram account.
"The questions are simple, but informative and the answers can easily be found. We don't aim to ask hard questions because the purpose is to attract members of the community to know more about the country's laws and about the prosecution's work," said Mr Saif.
Winners will be shortlisted and one will receive the Dh5,000 prize.
