ABU DHABI // Cooler weather and scattered rain is expected in the next few days.
Fujairah and Khor Fakkan have already experienced unstable weather, with rain flooding streets along the eastern coast on Sunday.
This area could also experience further downpours in the coming days .The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology estimates that there will be a 30 to 40 per cent chance of rain over the eastern coast from Wednesday afternoon onwards.
Low pressure is also developing over the north-eastern part of Iran. Once this clashes with a cold air mass in the upper atmosphere, it could cause “unstable weather to prevail over the UAE”, said Sufian Farrah, a meteorologist with the centre.
This weather pattern is expected to last until Thursday morning.
The cooler weather will also be experienced along the western coast, with strong winds causing rough seas.
Cloudy weather is also expected over most of the country on Thursday, bringing scattered showers and cooler temperatures, according to the centre.
Dust whipped up by the wind may also lead to reduced visibility in open areas.
“So the public will feel that winter is starting to come,” said Mr Farrah, adding that temperatures will be about 27°C in coastal areas.
