About 54,000 cubic metres of rainwater, or 12 million gallons, was collected in the Central Region’s dams after rains on Sunday.
Mariam Mohammed Saeed Hareb, acting assistant undersecretary for water resources and nature conservation, said the heavy rains that fell in Masafai led rainwater to flow in Ham valleys, in Ham Dam lake B in Bathna and in Wadi Siji valley.
She said rainwater harvested in Ham Dam lake B was estimated at 42,000 cubic metres and reached a height of 3.1 metres.
The water collected in Wadi Siji valley 1 reached 12,000 cubic metres and was 2.4 metres high.
