DUBAI // An airport transit passenger was jailed for 10 years on Wednesday after more than a kilogram of cocaine was found stashed in his shorts.
Guinean Q F, 34, told Dubai Criminal Court that he did not know it was drugs after he was apprehended at Dubai airport on May 16 following a flight from Brazil.
Policeman M A, 35, said: “I asked for his passport then suspected him due to his behaviour, so I took him to the search room and there I found that he had small, secret pockets in his shorts, inside which he had hidden a number of plastic bags each containing cocaine.”
The officer said that when he asked about the drugs the Guinean confessed but said a friend of his asked him to carry the packages to Ivory Coast in return for money.
