Air Arabia has announced a new non-stop service from Sharjah to London Gatwick, with flights starting at Dh999.
Starting March 29, the route will operate twice a day. Flights will leave Sharjah at 3.55am and 1.45pm, while return services from London Gatwick depart at 10.05am and 7.35pm.
The 3.55am Sharjah flight arrives in London at 8.45am, and the 1.45pm service lands at 6.35pm. From London, the 10.05am departure reaches Sharjah at 8.20pm, while the 7.35pm flight arrives the following day at 5.50am.
Flights on the route will be operated by an Airbus A321neo LR aircraft. Air Arabia’s fleet consists entirely of Airbus A320 and A321 models and includes services such as its in-flight streaming platform, SkyTime and onboard menu SkyCafe.

This expansion reflects our continued commitment to connecting our key markets with greater reach and convenience while delivering the value-driven travel experience Air Arabia is known for," said Adel Al Ali, group chief executive of Air Arabia.
He added: “The introduction of London Gatwick not only enhances connectivity from our Sharjah hub, but reflects our commitment to offering customers, whether travelling for business or leisure, a greater choice of affordable and reliable air travel options. We look forward to welcoming travellers onboard and providing them with direct access between the UAE and the United Kingdom."
Jonathan Pollard, chief commercial officer at London Gatwick, said: “Demand for flights to destinations across the Middle East has really taken off this year and we have been delighted to offer passengers across London and the South East an increasingly fantastic range of routes and choice of carriers."

Basquiat in Abu Dhabi
One of Basquiat’s paintings, the vibrant Cabra (1981–82), now hangs in Louvre Abu Dhabi temporarily, on loan from the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
The latter museum is not open physically, but has assembled a collection and puts together a series of events called Talking Art, such as this discussion, moderated by writer Chaedria LaBouvier.
It's something of a Basquiat season in Abu Dhabi at the moment. Last week, The Radiant Child, a documentary on Basquiat was shown at Manarat Al Saadiyat, and tonight (April 18) the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is throwing the re-creation of a party tonight, of the legendary Canal Zone party thrown in 1979, which epitomised the collaborative scene of the time. It was at Canal Zone that Basquiat met prominent members of the art world and moved from unknown graffiti artist into someone in the spotlight.
“We’ve invited local resident arists, we’ll have spray cans at the ready,” says curator Maisa Al Qassemi of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.

Real estate tokenisation project
Dubai launched the pilot phase of its real estate tokenisation project last month.
The initiative focuses on converting real estate assets into digital tokens recorded on blockchain technology and helps in streamlining the process of buying, selling and investing, the Dubai Land Department said.
Dubai’s real estate tokenisation market is projected to reach Dh60 billion ($16.33 billion) by 2033, representing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total property transactions, according to the DLD.
