Thursday’s cover: Al Nasr on the march after romping El Jaish in Asian Champions League

Al Nasr goalscorers Jonathan Pitropia, left, and Wanderley make the front cover of The National Sport on Thursday, August 25, 2016 after firing the Dubai club to a 3-0 victory over El Jaish in the Asian Champions League in Doha on Wednesday.

John McAuley was in the Qatari capital to witness Wanderley, the Brazilian making his Nasr debut and Champions League bow, score either side of the Burkina Faso winger’s second-half strike to see the Arabian Gulf League club take a commanding lead in this quarter-final tie. Barring a disaster in the return leg in the UAE on September 14, Nasr appear to have all but assured their place in the semi-finals for the first time.
