The hosts Saudi Arabia played Qatar to a 1-1 draw on Thursday while Yemen and Bahrain finished in a scoreless draw in the opening night of the 2014 Gulf Cup of Nations.

The UAE will start their title defence on Friday night when they meet Oman.
