NFL: Aaron Rodgers drives Green Bay Packers in defeat of Chicago Bears in game held up by lightning

The Green Bay Packers trounced the Chicago Bears 35-14 in a game disrupted due to lightning.

Despite a 47-minute delay while the weather cleared and a team beset by injuries, the Packers recorded a comfortable win, holding a two-touchdown lead before the Bears even ran a second offensive play.

There was drama on the pitch when Davante Adams had to be carried off after taking a heavy hit to the helmet from Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan.

And starter Ty Montgomery broke his ribs early on in the team's first drive, briefly playing through it until he left the game.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers helped drive his side's victory, throwing four touchdown passes and helping to build a 21-0 lead in the second quarter.

After the game, which had started with both teams standing arm-in-arm for the national anthem, Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Adams was conscious and doing well.
