While most 37-year-olds are content to take it easy on their bodies, Zlatan Ibrahimovic took to Twitter to show off his suppleness and call out his sporting pals to attempt the latest social media craze: the Matrix challenge.

The Swede, scorer of more than 500 career goals, spinning taekwondo kicks and long flowing locks that wouldn't look out of place in a shampoo commercial, showed the elasticity of a 12-year-old gymnast to recreate the actions of Keanu Reeves' character Neo in the blockbuster Matrix movie franchise.

After a few keepy-ups, the LA Galaxy forward leans back limbo style with arms flailing to mimic Neo dodging bullets in slow motion - all while keeping the ball perfectly still on his chest. The big show off.

Ibrahimovic tweeted to former Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba, men's tennis world No 1 Novak Djokovic, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and his own agent, Mino Raiola, to see if they would take up the Matrix challenge.

While Pogba, Djokovic and Nurmagomedov are yet to respond, they should be agile and nimble enough to at least attempt it.

On the other hand, Raiola, who has helped Ibrahimovic move to clubs including Juventus, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, is more rotund than rubbery, and might struggle.
