  Goalkeeper: Tim Krul (Norwich) – Made a string of saves as the Championship champions beat the Premier League winners as Manchester City lost at Carrow Road. EPA

  Right-back: Sam Byram (Norwich) – Only playing because Max Aarons was injured, the summer signing (wearing No 3) subdued Raheem Sterling in a famous win for Norwich. AFP

  Centre-back: Fikayo Tomori (Chelsea) – The youngster opened his Chelsea account in spectacular style with a 25-yard effort in the unexpected thrashing of Wolves. EPA

  Centre-back: Harry Maguire (Manchester United) – Relished a reunion with his old club. Maguire was terrific in helping an injury-hit United keep a clean sheet and beat Leicester. AFP

  Left-back: Moussa Djenepo (Southampton) – A winger used as a wing-back, the summer signing showed his attacking qualities with a fine solo goal to sink Sheffield United. AFP

  Centre midfield: Lewis Cook (Bournemouth) – A terrific first appearance of the season as Cook returned from a nine-month injury lay-off to help Bournemouth beat Everton. AFP

  Centre midfield: Tom Cleverley (Watford) – Began the comeback against Arsenal with a well-taken goal and helped inspire Watford to a draw after they trailed 2-0. EPA

  Left midfield: Sadio Mane (Liverpool) – Two more goals for the increasingly prolific Senegalese to defeat Newcastle. Jurgen Klopp thought the first was sensational. AFP

  Centre forward: Son Heung-min (Tottenham) – Tormented Crystal Palace with his pace and movement. Scored a clinical brace as Spurs rushed into a 4-0 half-time lead. AFP

There were big shocks in the Premier League this past weekend, but none were more seismic than Norwich City's win over champions Manchester City.

While Teemu Pukki was terrific in grabbing what proved to be the winning goal, behind him was the class of Emi Buendia in midfield and the stoic performances of Sam Byram and Tim Krul in goal as the Canaries secured a 3-2 victory over Pep Guardiola's side.

There was plenty of goals elsewhere, too. Tammy Abraham continues to justify Frank Lampard's faith in him after grabbing a hat-trick in Chelsea's 5-2 win away to Wolves while Sadio Mane and Son Heung-min grabbed a brace each in Liverpool and Tottenham wins over Newcastle United and Crystal Palace respectively.

Harry Maguire responded to the taunts of Leicester City fans by marshalling an excellent Manchester United rearguard effort while Lewis Cook marked his first start following nine months on the sidelines with a fine display in Bournemouth's home win over Everton.
