SERIE A: Napoli v Juventus, Saturday, beIN Sports HD, 11.45pm
First goes up against second in Serie A. Napoli lead the four-time defending champions by two points, with the pair having made the scudetto title race into a two-way duel when it had been five sides still in contention before the winter break. Juventus are the team with momentum, having won their past 14 games, with Massimiliano Allegri's men also having not conceded a league goal in 566 minutes of play. Napoli are also on an impressive run of victories of their own, prevailing in their past eight games, with the goals of Gonzalo Higuain keeping their noses ahead of Juve. One of these two winning streaks, or in the event of a draw both, will come to an end Saturday night in Naples.
LA LIGA: Real Madrid v Athletic Bilbao, Saturday, beIN Sports HD, 7pm
It would be fair to say that Zinedine Zidane has adapted to top-level coaching at Real Madrid pretty well. At least at the Bernabeu anyway. Since taking over last month, the Frenchman has won all three games on home turf, with 16 goals scored in the process. Saturday's match against Athletic Bilbao will be a stiffer test than that offered by the vanquished Deportivo La Coruna, Sporting Gijon and Espanyol. Bilbao are fifth, two places behind Real, but Zidane's men cannot afford to drop points. They trail Primera Liga leaders Barcelona by four points, and with the Catalan side having a game in hand, they cannot afford to lose more ground.
PREMIER LEAGUE: Arsenal v Leicester City, Sunday, beIN Sports HD, 6pm
Leicester City made a powerful statement of intent about their credentials to win the Premier League last weekend when not only did they beat Manchester City, but they deservedly did so with a comprehensive 3-1 victory. But, the challenges keep on coming with a trip to third-place Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium next up. The North London side's 2-0 victory over Bournemouth last Sunday ended a run of four games without a victory, and will give them encouragement, even though they are five points off Leicester. Another reason for Arsene Wenger's men to be optimistic is the 5-2 victory over Leicester at the King Power Stadium in September.
PREMIER LEAGUE: Manchester City v Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday, beIN Sports HD, 8.15pm
These two sides come into this encounter with contrasting emotions. City, fourth in the Premier League table, put in one of their poorest displays under Manuel Pellegrini as they lost to Leicester, while Tottenham Hotspur made it six wins in a row in all competitions with a 1-0 success over Watford, which was more emphatic than the scoreline suggests. Second-placed Tottenham have only lost three times this season, and are unbeaten in their past 11 away games, so will not go to the Etihad Stadium to face a City side licking their wounds with any fears. Indeed, Tottenham were 4-1 victors over City at White Hart Lane in their first meeting in September.
ARABIAN GULF LEAGUE: Al Shabab v Al Jazira, Sunday, beIN Sports HD, 8.15pm
There has not been much to cheer about if you are an Al Jazira fan in what has been an underwhelming 2015/16 campaign thus far. The Abu Dhabi side have struggled, but finally showed some spirit in the past week as firstly they defeated Dibba 5-1 in the Arabian Gulf League and then held their nerve in a penalty shoot-out on Tuesday to get the better of Al Sadd and qualify for the group stages of the Asian Champions League. The aim now for Henk ten Cate’s side is to move up the league table. They are currently ninth, but will fancy their chances at seventh-placed Al Shabab on Sunday.
