There were shock waves across the Premier League this weekend, with Brighton & Hove Albion, Wolves and Newcastle United all pulling off shock results.

Brighton inflicted more misery on a hapless Tottenham Hotspur side seemingly disappearing inside itself. Just days after suffering a 7-2 defeat at home in the Champions League to Bayern Munich, Brighton put three past them at the Amex.

Defender Lewis Dunk was a standout, while 19-year-old striker Aaron Connolly marked his first start in the Premier League with two well-taken goals.

Adama Traore excelled as a wing-back to contain Manchester City's attacking threat before showing his skills as a finisher as Wolves pulled off a smash-and-grab victory over champions Manchester City at the Etihad.

Not to be outdone by their neighbours, Manchester United's miserable away form continued with a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle, with 19-year-old midfielder Matty Longstaff marking his top-flight debut with the winner.

United's haul of nine points after eight games is their worst tally at this stage of a top-flight campaign since 1989.
