Frank Lampard had the last laugh as the Derby County manager celebrated his side's 4-2 Championship play-off semi-final victory at Elland Road by mocking Leeds United supporters.
Jack Marriott came off the bench to fire in two goals as Derby secured a 4-3 aggregate win over their rivals to set up a match against Aston Villa to determine which team will take the final place in next season's Premier League.
There was an added measure of revenge for Lampard though following a bizaare incident in January when Leeds counterpart Marcelo Bielsa admitted to sending a member of staff to spy on Derby's training methods shortly before facing them in a league match.
The eccentric Argentine ended up explaining his move, and later hosted a detailed press conference for over an hour explaining some of his methods.
Leeds supporters took great delight in mocking Derby and Lampard for their reaction to the incident, with fans taunting the former Chelsea and England midfielder during last week's 1-0 victory at Pride Park.
But after Wednesday's victory booked a Wembley showdown against Villa on May 27, it was Lampard's turn to ram taunts down Leeds supporters' throats.
Inside the away dressing room, Lampard could be seen dancing around as the jubilant Derby players repeated the lines to the tune of Oasis' Stop Crying Your Heart Out.
During the on-pitch celebrations, Derby's players could be seen miming the wearing of binoculars in front of their fans.
Lampard's side will face Aston Villa when he will come up against his friend and former club and international colleague John Terry, who is assistant to manager Dean Smith.
