Harry Kane fails to report to Tottenham training ground for second day

Striker looks to force move away from Spurs, with Manchester City among the clubs interested

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has failed to report for pre-season training for a second day in a row as the England captain attempts to engineer a move away from the club.

Kane was due back at Tottenham's Hotspur Way training centre on Monday for PCR testing but never showed and the 28-year-old forward was again absent on Tuesday, according to Sky Sports, who also reported that Spurs are "disappointed" by the player's actions.

Kane expressed his desire at the end of last season to leave Spurs to challenge for trophies, with Manchester City among the clubs interested in his services.

Despite having three years left on his contract, Kane believes a gentleman's agreement is in place with chairman Daniel Levy allowing him to leave the club. However, Tottenham have made it clear they have no intention of selling their best player.

City reportedly had a £100 million ($139m) offer for Kane rejected in June, with Tottenham valuing their prized asset at closer to £150m.

Kane had been in the Bahamas following England’s run to the Euro 2020 final and looks to have set his stall out to force a move from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

New manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who was assured Kane would not be sold during discussions for the job, said last month that Kane could be "counted on” next season.

Kane was Tottenham's stand-out player last season, topping both the Premier League goals (23) and assists (14) charts despite his club's disappointing seventh-placed finish.
