Stoke City are willing to offer a loan-plus-cash deal to Chelsea in exchange for goalkeeper Asmir Begovic, according to media reports.

Chelsea are in the market for a new goalkeeper after allowing Petr Cech to leave for rivals Arsenal, and Begovic has reportedly been sounded out as a possible replacement.

Understandably, Stoke are reluctant to allow their No 1 to leave given his proven Premier League class. However, should Begovic demand a move the club are willing to sanction his exit for the right price.

According to The Sun, Stoke will demand £8 million (Dh45.9m) plus either winger Victor Moses, forward Patrick Bamford or midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek as part of the deal.

Moses, 24, spent last season at Stoke and proved a solid addition to manager Mark Hughes’ squad, while Bamford, 21, impressed while on loan at Championship club Middlesbrough. Loftus-Cheek, 19, is highly regarded at Chelsea, with Jose Mourinho stating his desire to include the teenager in his first-team plans for next season.
