Gervinho's arrival for a medical at Al Jazira has been delayed as he has to join the Ivory Coast squad preparing for their African Cup of Nations Qualifiers opener against Gabon on Sunday.

"He will now arrive after two weeks," said an official of the club, confirming the Ivorian forward's move to from Serie A runners-up AS Roma the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium along with Brazilian Thiago Neves.

Jazira had earlier agreed an €11 million transfer fee for Neves from the Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal and are prepared to splash out €13 million for the Roma forward.

Manuel Lanzini, the Argentine forward, and Jonathan Pitroipa, the Burkina Faso winger, are the two players to be replaced by Neves and Gervinho.

They have retained Mirko Vucinic, the Montenegro striker who topped the Arabian Gulf League scoring chart with 25 goals on his debut season, and Jucilei da Silva, the Brazilian midfielder who plays under Palestinian citizenship.

Jazira are set to part ways with their coach Eric Gerets and Abel Braga, who led the Abu Dhabi club to a historic league and President’s Cup double in 2011, set for a return to his old club.
