Dior have just unveiled the fourth chapter in the Secret Garden saga, a film by Stephen Klein, starring Rihanna. Shot, by night, at Château de Versailles, the 27-year-old singer wanders through the venue’s cinematic mirrored halls wearing couture from the Esprit Dior Tokyo collection, Tribale earrings and holding a Diorama bag. The main soundtrack for the vignette, Only if for a Night, is taken from Rihanna’s upcoming album.
In spring 2012 the house of Dior presented the first Secret Garden film, shot again at Versailles but by Dutch fashion designer duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Model Daria Strokous appeared wearing the label’s pre-autumn 2012 collection and the montage generated more than 25 million views on YouTube. The following year, the same team returned to make Dior’s Secret Garden II, this time featuring the rustic retreat called the Queen’s Hamlet, built for Marie-Antoinette within the grounds of Versailles. The third chapter in the series was completed last year with Dior’s couture showcased against the backdrop of Versailles’s many salons, private apartments and secret passageways.

What is graphene?
Graphene is a single layer of carbon atoms arranged like honeycomb.
It was discovered in 2004, when Russian-born Manchester scientists Andrei Geim and Kostya Novoselov were "playing about" with sticky tape and graphite - the material used as "lead" in pencils.
Placing the tape on the graphite and peeling it, they managed to rip off thin flakes of carbon. In the beginning they got flakes consisting of many layers of graphene. But as they repeated the process many times, the flakes got thinner.
By separating the graphite fragments repeatedly, they managed to create flakes that were just one atom thick. Their experiment had led to graphene being isolated for the very first time.
At the time, many believed it was impossible for such thin crystalline materials to be stable. But examined under a microscope, the material remained stable, and when tested was found to have incredible properties.
It is many times times stronger than steel, yet incredibly lightweight and flexible. It is electrically and thermally conductive but also transparent. The world's first 2D material, it is one million times thinner than the diameter of a single human hair.
But the 'sticky tape' method would not work on an industrial scale. Since then, scientists have been working on manufacturing graphene, to make use of its incredible properties.
In 2010, Geim and Novoselov were awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics. Their discovery meant physicists could study a new class of two-dimensional materials with unique properties.

Hydrogen: Market potential
Hydrogen has an estimated $11 trillion market potential, according to Bank of America Securities and is expected to generate $2.5tn in direct revenues and $11tn of indirect infrastructure by 2050 as its production increases six-fold.
"We believe we are reaching the point of harnessing the element that comprises 90 per cent of the universe, effectively and economically,” the bank said in a recent report.
Falling costs of renewable energy and electrolysers used in green hydrogen production is one of the main catalysts for the increasingly bullish sentiment over the element.
The cost of electrolysers used in green hydrogen production has halved over the last five years and will fall to 60 to 90 per cent by the end of the decade, acceding to Haim Israel, equity strategist at Merrill Lynch. A global focus on decarbonisation and sustainability is also a big driver in its development.
